Well, I am so ready for Christmas! I am always excited and this is a very special Christmas for me because it is our first one since we got married! Jimmy and I are such kids are heart when it comes to holidays and birthdays! We just love them. My mom has always made Christmas wonderful for my brother (R.Tee) and I. As long as I can remember we have had special traditions and she is really great at making all of our presents a big surprise for Christmas morning (except for last year when she put everything out early...lets just say that I object to that!) I love seeing everyone else's presents wrapped under the tree but not mine...ok, back to my point, thanks to my mom our family has kept some awesome traditions that I hope to continue for our kids...
1. we dress up for dinner (Prime Rib and lots of cookies for dessert) with my dad's side of the family for Christmas Eve (when we were little we would go to church before we went to Grandma Beverly's house for dinner, but now my mom cooks for Aunt Susan and my cousins).
2. We always unwrap new pajamas from mom and dad on Christmas Eve. Sometimes we go to midnight church service after dinner.
3. every year on Christmas Morning I am up at the crack of dawn ( I am not a morning person!) to wake up my sleeping brother and parents (sometimes, but they get up really early) to unwrap presents!
4. then Aunt Becky, Uncle Kim, Drew, and Ali come over for a breakfast of sausage balls, deviled eggs, coffee cake, etc.
5. when we were younger (and our family was smaller) my grandpa Al would drive the motorhome to Stephanie's house and bring their family, Aunt Deb, and Aunt Kim to our house for breakfast too.
6. My Grandpa Al and Grandma Charlotte hosted Christmas dinner for years and now my mom has taken over that tradition for our family.
