I am 22 today...

I am such a bad blogger. I was searching the web right now thinking about how much I love this time of the year. I love my birthday (july 2) and the fourth of july but I just love the summer time. I love when it is about 100 degrees outside. I love wearing flip flops. These are the things that make summer my favorite time of the whole year. It has been super crazy in my life lately which has caused me to do absolutely no scrapbooking of my own, but I did make the cutest pregnancy journal for my sister-in-law-to-be natalie. I am so excited about becoming an aunt for the first time! I have just a few more pages to finish up then I have to take some pictures of it to post. Well I am looking forward to a summer full of weddings (both my sister-in-laws-to-be are getting married soon) and summer school (which has got me bummed out but it gets me that much closer to my graduation in december). It is so exciting how much my life has been changing. A year ago I was still working for Joe (yuck) and now I have become more experienced and successful than I would have imagined in this short amount of time. I have also grown a lot and I am looking forward to another year of change. In the next year I am looking forward to seeing both nat and jennifer get married; my graduation from college; the birth of my new niece or nephew; and sharing all of it with my wonderful family and friends.

Haven't blogged in a while...

I have neglected to post anything on my blog in over a month mostly because I have not done many pages. The last two months were really crazy in my world due to school, National Scrapbook Day preparations and festivities, and Relay For Life. I am trying to get back to my schedule of school, homework, and designing, but this being the last few months of college I have been investing a lot of time in school. I do hope to work a little this week and finish some of Jenn's pages. And I did add a few things to Cori's Holiday album and took pictures of all the pages. I have been super busy preparing and kitting for my Heidi Swapp product classes. I think sign ups for June are at 19 people. I still can't believe the huge number of customers that are interested in my use of this product. I am not complaining, I am amazed.

Doodling...

In the craziness of my life I have not had the time to actually create anything with my pictures in almost a month but I do have some time to dream about scrapbooking my own life. I love the idea and look of all the drawing and doodling that is on scrapbook pages recently. This trend has taken over the magazines and scrapbooking websites. This weekend I was working on one of Laurie's albums when I realized how much I love this look. I am not nearly confident enough to draw freehand in someone's album but I did use a ton of rub-ons all mixed together to create the same effect. I can see myself going through all of the piles of older product in my scrapbook room to find more rub-on shapes.
Anyway, in addition to working on Laurie's Galveston photos, I did 67 pages in an album for Cori's birthday (I do have to confess that most of the creativity in that album happened in the week prior to her husband picking up the album on the morning of her birthday) and some more pages of Jenn's family.
Today (after going to my least favorite Marketing class), I worked on putting together the kits for this month's Heidi Swapp class. And by today I mean all of today because I had to do 5 kits per person, I have 16 people signed up for class already, and I made one extra so if you do the math I (with some help from Shanna this evening) made 85 kits. And at 10:30 at night I still have to cut some chipboard and ribbon. But last month's class was a hit with 9 people signed up and this month I will hopefully survive teaching and have a little fun. I am actually really excited about teaching this stuff which is not the feeling I usually have.

Inspired to teach...

While we were at CHA Winter this last January I was definitely inspired. I was inspired to create, to change things up in the store, to educate myself every chance I get...these were the things that I almost expected to experience during our week in Vegas, but one thing that I never thought I would pick up is that I was inspired to teach. I admit that teaching is not one of my strong points (that is because I am a right brained person) and I find myself wanting to complete the project for my students instead of allowing myself to go through the process of teaching them. I am always inspired by my favorite designer, Heidi Swapp, and by the fabulous products her company has produced, but I was also inspired by the teaching methods in all of the Bazzill classes that Shanna and I took. Well, long story short, I am teaching my first of hopefully many Heidi Swapp product classes tomorrow night. I am so excited. If you'd like to see the sample click on Meet Heidi Swapp.

Hello...

Hello everyone,

I am starting this blog to share my creativity with the world. I love to share my scrapbooking but I am still very humble about my art. So, I created this blog to share my work with everyone that is interested in what I actually create for myself. If I am absolutely in love with something that I created for someone else and they are generous enough to let me post a picture of the completed project I may add in some of the work I have created for customers. If anyone is ever curious about what I have created for a customer then stop by my favorite hangout, Simply Scrapbooks. I bet my family loves that my place of business is where I am the great majority of my time and when I am not there I am thinking about being there. Am I obsessed? NO.

Well I am sure you are all wondering where my pictures are but I haven't completed anything for myself in a while. I guess I have just been working so hard on school...that is one word I will definitely try to not use at in this blog...and I have been working on pages for the store, some pages of Jenn's cute daughters, and an entire album of The Holidays With The Hollingsead's...I guess I am busy enough. No complaints. It is nice to be demanded.
